About the Job

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction and supervision of the Camp and Teen Director, and in harmony with the Judeo-Christian nature and purposes, and the established policies, goals and objectives of the Chinatown YMCA. The Program Leader supervises and guides a teen's development in a safe and healthy environment. Staff schedules are set at the time of employment but are subject to change by the supervisor based on the needs of the program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 21 years old
  • At Least 2 Years of college (48 units)
  • Must have experience working with high school age youth
  • Must be highly motivated to provide quality After School opportunities to youth
  • Must be a Team Player
  • Knowledge or expertise in youth development
  • Must be comfortable leading physical activities with youth
  • Must be available  Monday and Wednesday from 8:00am-2:30pm and Friday from 2:00pm - 5:30pm
  • Bilingual Mandarin/Cantonese
  • Current CPR and 1st Aid certification
  • California's Food Handlers certification
  • Must be willing to participate in bi-annual evaluations and supervision meetings as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Knowledge of Zoom and other online interaction platforms
