About the Job

Under the supervision of the YMCA National Director of the Reach & Rise mentoring, the Associate National Director is responsible for providing technical assistance and direct support to 20 YMCA’s Association Directors. This position works closely with the National Director as well as the leadership of the YMCA of San Francisco to ensure uniformity of the YMCA’s Reach & Rise Mentoring Program Model.

The Associate Director trains Association ONE to One and GROUP Directors on how to deliver a consistent mentoring training curriculum, troubleshoot any program implementation issues, and assists in the monitoring of the site’s risk management activities. This position provides ongoing support, problem-solving and training.  The Associate Director also promotes programmatic best practices and augment curriculum as needed.

To these ends, the Associate Director must have interpersonal skills to provide individual and group coaching, teaching, and clinical support.  The Associate Director ensures that all goals and objectives are met for the program and must have the ability to clearly communicate and enforce the program expectations and requirements. The Associate Director ensures that all Association Director must adhere to all confidentiality and risk management procedures.

Reach and Rise Mentoring is a national therapeutic mentoring program serving youths needing extra support with mentorship and case management. Reach and Rise mentoring has 2 program models, our ONE to ONE program matches one adult volunteer with one youth for 12 months, our GROUP program matches 2 adult volunteers with 8 youths who meet weekly for 16 weeks in the fall and spring and 8 weeks in the summer. The Associate National Director will be required to understand the policies and procedures of both programs and will provide support to the staff running programs.

Salary Range: $82,624 TO $90,000 annually

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Social Work, counseling, or closely related field
  • 4+ yrs. of experience working with families in crisis, homeless, at risk, disadvantaged, and culturally diverse populations
  • Familiarity with providing/ managing the provision of Trauma Informed Care
  • Knowledge of San Francisco’s neighborhood and Social Services infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and implement programming on site and serve in a supervisory capacity to prioritize staff work plans and to develop and maintain productive work ethic with staff in service to meeting program goals and funder requirements
  • Proven ability to communicate well both in written and oral forms, with the demonstrated ability to write effective service plans, assessments and reports;
  • Experience working in a government and/or non-profit setting interacting with the development and implementation of programs that serve low-income communities;
  • Proven ability to coordinate and/or facilitate groups, workshops and events that are inclusive and diverse;
  • Computer literacy and competence
  • Skilled at cultivating meaningful relationships with the general public, branch and community members;
  • Proven ability to collect, compile and interpret data for reporting purposes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker or clinical background
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Understanding of cognitive behavioral approaches
  • Experience with Salesforce database
  • Experience with federal grant reporting and protocols
