About the Job
Our Community Mental Health Therapists provide school-based services and intensive services in our community of clients in San Francisco. Two-thirds of our referrals come from school campuses and services are provided on-site. A smaller fraction of our clients is referred to us by SF DPH, SF JPD, and Foster Care Mental Health. We pride ourselves at the Y in being a stellar training establishment and wonderful way to begin or further your mental health career. This job includes a combination of mental health consultation, direct therapeutic service provision, and referral linkages as necessary to other local programs.
Must be able to travel around the city to provide services in multiple school sites. Car or efficient use of public transportation is a must. Mileage reimbursement applied anytime there is more than one work site per day.
Minimum Qualifications
- MA or MS in Counseling, Clinical Psychology or Social work OR be within one academic year of completion
- California Board of Behavioral Science registration mandatory OR in last year of Graduate school and must be registration eligible.
- 2+ years of work or volunteerism in social services
- Excellent interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver relevant and nuanced clinical care
- Proficiency with MS Windows, Office Suite
- YMCA approved CPR/First Aid Certification
- Clear TB test required
Preferred Qualifications
- Spanish language fluency – oral and written
- Knowledge of Teams and Zoom
