About the Job
Under the direction of the Executive of Early Childhood Education, the Senior Child Development Program Director will focus on high quality programming for children ages 3 months to 6 years of age and will ensure compliance with all pre-school and YSF child safe policies and procedures as well as Community Care Licensing requirements. The Senior Child Development Program Director is responsible for the supervision of the site coordinators at St. Francis Preschool, and Gateway Child Development program and staff development for all ECE program staff. This role conduct site visits, provide staff feedback and training to improve program quality.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 25 years old
- BA Degree in ECE or related field
- 4+ years of experience working with Infant, toddlers, and preschool aged children and with community-based organizations
- Expertise in developing and improving vision-driven and evidence-based programming.
- 3+ years of experience managing staff and program budgets
- Must meet all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing for a Licensed Community Care facility, i.e., Fingerprint and Child Abuse Central Index clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid CDL and clean driving record.
- Licenses & Certifications: YMCA approved CPR and First Aid, Site Supervisor Permit from California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC)
- Successful fund development experience.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work with people from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, educational,
- religious, sexual orientation backgrounds.
- Commitment to developing and sustaining quality services for young youth from infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families, and a desire to learn and understand the needs of YMCA’s / community partners’ / institutional partner’s constituents, staff, and partners.
- Must be able to transport self to different sites as needed, sometimes traveling across multiple sites per day.
- Adept at working in a fast-paced environment with diverse stakeholders and thinking fast on their feet.
Preferred Qualifications
- Youth development experience with the YMCA
- Knowledge of NAEYC, PITC, Creative Curriculum, Anti-Bias Curriculum, Emergent Curriculum and Reggio Emilia
