About the Job
YMCA Personal Trainers will program and deliver safe and effective workouts for a wide variety of individual, buddy-training or small group training clients. The incumbent will present a positive, enthusiastic and caring attitude to a diverse population of members and staff. Personal Trainers should work a minimum, but not limited to, one wellness coaching shift per week or until garnering minimum number of clients, before transitioning to personal training only. Wellness Coaching shifts will consist of and not limited to; speaking with members on the workout floor, tailoring programs such as Wellness Appointments for members to help them reach their fitness goals, reach out to members to schedule wellness appointments and report any equipment issues to fitness director. Potential to support other areas such as Membership, Active Older Adults program, After-School programs and Group Exercise department.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Flexible schedule with the availability to train clients during YMCA operating hours including weekday early mornings, evenings and weekends.
- Bilingual applicants (Chinese) preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Nationally accredited Personal Training certification.
- CPR/AED/First Aid within 30 days of hire
