About the Job

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator, lifeguards are responsible for maintaining a safe swimming environment in the pool, on the pool deck and surrounding areas. Lifeguards must be able to relate to members and guests in a positive and firm manner, to communicate the Y’s Aquatic Program philosophy and to react calmly and quickly in an emergency situation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Minimum 16 years of age.
  2. Current Lifeguard Certification
  3. Current Y-approved CPR/AED, First Aid and Oxygen certification
  4. Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.
  5. Must be flexible to a schedule that may include some nights, early mornings, and weekends.
