About the Job
The Preschool Lead Teacher is part of a team which provides a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for all children enrolled in our program at the YMCA Preschool. The Preschool Lead Teacher will help plan and actively participate in all preschool activities scheduled. The Lead Teacher will supervise and support volunteers, and/or substitutes when needed. The Lead Teacher is responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with families. The Lead Teacher must have a positive attitude and model appropriate behavior when dealing with children. The Lead Teacher must obey and follow all regulations set forth by Community Care Licensing as well as instructions given by the Site Supervisor.

Salary range: $30.00 to $36.88 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- Must be qualified for Teacher Permit (12 ECE core, plus 16 GE)
- Must be able to work year-round Monday-Friday (excluding major holidays), assigned 8 hour shifts between 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
- 350+ days of experience in a childcare setting, 3+ hours per day within 4 years
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
- Experience with MS Word and Excel
- CPR and First Aid certified (may complete upon hire)
- Provide TB and Physical Health clearance prior to hire and every 2 years thereafter
- Submit proof of Immunizations for Influenza, Pertussis, and Measles
- Fingerprint background check clearance through Community Care Licensing
Preferred Qualifications
- AA/BA Degree in ECE, Child Development or related
- Some experience working for YMCA
- Bilingual skills in Spanish strongly preferred
- Knowledge of DRDP, NAEYC, PITC, Anti-Bias Curriculum, Emergent Curriculum and Reggio Emilia
