About the Job
The Transitional Coach (TC) will work under the supervision and direction of the Workforce Development Program (WDP) Director & Workforce Coordinator as part of an inter-agency team to coordinate with local Community-Based Organizations and schools to provide life skills workshops. The TC will provide case management services to Transitional Age Youth ages 14 – 24 (TAY) and TAY-to-adults, including advocacy, referrals to appropriate resources and therapeutic support. The TC will develop success plans, case management plans, and transition plans including intake needs and risk assessment, service plan, ongoing progress notes, and retention plan.
Salary: $24.00 to $30.00 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 22 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 2 years’ experience working with high school students or transitional age youth preferably in workforce development
- Available to work Monday-Friday during program hours with some weekends and evenings
- Must have strong facilitation and classroom management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to operate various data tracking systems including CMS, Salesforce, Workforce Central, and EMS.
- Knowledge of youth development practices and conflict mediation
- Familiarity working with schools and/or community-based agencies
- Proven ability to work with people from a variety of different ethnic, socio-economic, educational, religious, sexual and generational backgrounds.
- Must be highly motivated to provide quality After School opportunities to teens & transitional age youth
- YMCA approved CPR and 1st Aid certification - can complete upon hiring
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Cantonese
