The Peninsula YMCA is seeking a Preschool Suite Coordinator & Master Teacher for Gateway Child Development Center - 559 Gateway Blvd, South San Francisco, CA 94080
The Master Teacher & Suite Coordinator is an entry level supervisory role and is part of a team which provides a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for all children enrolled in our program at the YMCA Preschool Suite for Infants, Toddlers, and/or Preschool students. The Suite Coordinator will be a primary teacher for a group of children and will also supervise the staff in each classroom within the suite. This position will be in ratio for 80% of their time and 20% administratively. The Suite Coordinator’s role will include the oversight of day-to-day functions of the program. The Suite Coordinator is responsible for enrollment intake, ensuring DRDP/children’s assessments and portfolios, and parent/teacher conferences are completed on time. The Master Teacher & Suite Coordinator will actively participate and help plan all activities scheduled with the team. The position will supervise and train new teachers, substitutes, and volunteers. The Master Teacher & Suite Coordinator is responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with families being served at the YMCA Preschool and must have a positive attitude and model appropriate behavior when dealing with children, families, and team members. The Master Teacher & Suite Coordinator must observe and follow all regulations set forth by Community Care Licensing as well as instructions given by the Site Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- 21 years or older
- BA Degree in ECE or related field
- Site Supervisor Permit from California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC)
- Available full-time Monday-Friday; 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week (ECE is a year-round program)
- 2 years' experience of in a supervisory role
- Experience working with toddlers and preschool aged children
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English
- CPR and First Aid certified (may certify upon hire)
- Fingerprint background check clearance with Community Care Licensing
- Submit proof of immunizations, health screening, TB test clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual skills in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or other language
- CCTC Program Director permit qualified
- Experience working for the YMCA or in YMCA Preschools
- Knowledge of NAEYC, PITC, Anti-Bias Curriculum, Emergent Curriculum and Reggio Emilia
