About the Job
Under the primary supervision of the Healthy Living Director, the Healthy Living Coordinator will be responsible for creating an engaging and supportive environment through successful implementation and management of the branch’s Wellness Attendant and Group Exercise Dept. May include branch specific Group Exercise/Wellness programs. Following the Y of San Francisco member engagement strategies, the Healthy Living Coordinator will create strategies and tactics in collaborating with branch leadership and healthy living staff to this end, and ensure our communications collateral and schedules are up-to-date and branded. The Healthy Living Coordinator will work up to 20 hours in an administrative capacity and 20 hours in a direct service capacity through Wellness Attending and Group Exercise.
Salary range:
Coordinator/Wellness $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
Group Exercise $31.60 to $40.00 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be available mornings, evenings, and weekends
- 2+ years of administrative and customer service experience
- Ability to teach a variety of health and fitness modalities and an advance understanding of all YMCA healthy living programs
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, computer and written/oral communication skills
- Experience in hiring and supervising staff
- YMCA approved CPR and First Aid Certification (within 90 days of hire)
- Nationally Recognized Group Exercise Instructor Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 1+ year of experience in teaching group exercise
- Bilingual skills in Spanish, Cantonese, and/or Mandarin
