At the Y, you can discover your passion and a lifelong career helping to solve some of the nation's most pressing social issues.

About the Job

Power Scholars Academy is a summer learning loss prevention and academic intervention program. We support scholars from all over San Francisco and San Mateo County in developing their academic foundation, as well as social emotional and critical thinking skills. Over the course of the summer, scholars spend 3 hours per day, four days per week with credentialed teachers reviewing math and literacy concepts to help catch them up to grade level and prepare them for the year ahead. In the afternoon, scholars spend 3 hours per day with enrichment leaders who lead project-led enrichments four days a week. On Fridays, enrichment leaders supervise scholars on field trip.

The PSA Enrichment Leader is responsible for leading activities that engage scholars through fun, hands-on experiences and support the classroom learnings. They must uplift a common theme that all youth have extraordinary potential and can be scholars. Key areas of responsibility will include maintaining a safe, scholar-friendly environment, planning and implementing engaging and fun activities, and collaborating with the program teachers and instructional aides to create a high-quality summer program.
