About the Job

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Family Support Services, the Mental Health Specialist is responsible for providing therapeutic direct services, one-one counseling, group counseling and consultation to members of the community through a trauma-informed lens.  The incumbent will ensure high quality services for participants, work collaboratively community based organizations, to ensure that families in the Bayview Hunters Point community have access to high quality mental health services and resources.  Additionally, the Mental Health Specialist will be responsible for attending and supporting case conferencing for case managers, providing case consultation, and professional development opportunities as needed. The Mental Health Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accessibility and consistency for FRC program participants to services.

Salary range: 

  • Unlicensed, $28.00 to $34.00 per hour
  • Licensed, $35.00 to $44.00 per hour

Required Qualifications

  • MSW, MFT
  • Experience with trauma informed, Family Support, Child Development, Family reunification, child abuse, understand the legal and ethical standards of practice
  • Must be able to work M-F, some nights and weekends
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • LMFT, LCSW
  • Experience working with Domestic Violence 
  • Understanding of unique issues impacting, the Bayview Hunters Point community
