YSF COVID-19 Sustainability Fund

With forced facility closures, program suspensions and consequent fee reductions, the Y’s ability to provide crucial social services for the most vulnerable members of our community is at risk.

We have launched the YSF COVID-19 Sustainability Fund to raise $3 Million in the next month to address our immediate crisis.

The newly established Sustainability Fund supports our Y staff as they work to protect the thousands of children, seniors and families who rely on us to serve their critical needs.

Our communities depend on the Y's adaptability. In this time of great need, we have re-deployed staff to our most critical program sites.

Pop-Up Y Kids

In partnership with the City of San Francisco, County of Marin and the Department of Children Youth and their Families, we are working with hospitals and municipalities to provide emergency care for the children of healthcare providers and first responders.

Food Pantries

In partnership with San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, we have expanded our food pantry services and locations to provide healthy food for families and seniors struggling with food insecurity.

At the Chinatown YMCA, we work side by side with our neighbors every day to ensure no one is without the services they need for a happy, healthy life. Join our cause by giving today.

Annual Giving Campaign

The Chinatown YMCA builds individuals through programs and services that promote youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility and engages them in a strong sense of family and community. We are committed to providing quality programs for our members; honoring the legacy of our 100-year history as a vital anchor institution of the Chinese American community in the Bay Area. Every day our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child, and when our community comes together for the common good.

Our Work

Our programs, membership and staff supported, taught, and helped a total of 4,670 youth, adults, and seniors in 2014.

Summer Learning

Summer programs helped 821 youth engage in enriching activities, preventing summer learning loss.

Access to Health

Over 600 facility members gain access to our facility through our income-based Membership for All program.

Building Community

Our Community Center offers social support services programs like Adult ESL class, parent workshops, family dinners, and family trips to 475 youth and families.

Your monthly dues at a membership facility fund the operations of that facility.  In addition the Y runs many more outreach and community programs, at our branch and outside of it. It is our donors’ generosity that assures that those with the greatest need in our community can afford such critical social services.
