The COVID-19 health crisis is derailing academic progress for youth. Working families are struggling to balance childcare and jobs.
The YMCA is partnering with Marin County Office of Education (MCOE) to provide distance-learning support at 18 Community Learning Hubs across Marin County targeting low-income families.
Y Programs Address the Opportunity Gap
Children from low-income areas do not have the same opportunities to experience enrichments, like art, music and STEAM, physical activities, academic resources in the same way children from middle- and high-income homes do. In Marin County, 65% of low-income students have not met English and Math proficiency standards.
To ensure our most marginalized students can succeed this school year, the Y needs to raise $1M to close the gap. We’re asking you to help keep Marin’s children & youth healthy, supported, & learning.
