We’re BACK! We are excited to announce that this year Jog In The Fog will be an in-person event. Our 9th annual race will take place on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 8 AM in Mt. Lake Park.
The race is organized by Richmond District resident Sarah Bacon, and proceeds from the race benefit the Richmond District YMCA. Participating in the race this year will not only show your support for the Richmond District YMCA, but you will also join a community of runners, joggers and walkers working toward the finish line together.

The official Jog in the Fog race begins in Mt. Lake Park and finishes out at Lands End in the USS San Francisco Memorial Parking Lot. The course is 3.4 miles in length, and is mostly flat terrain but there are some hills and stairs in the Lands End portion of the course.
(note that Google Maps think it’s longer than 3.4 miles but we’ve clocked it with a GPS, it’s 3.4 miles)
Proceeds from the Richmond District Jog in the Fog 5k will go to the Richmond District YMCA.
During the pandemic, the Richmond District YMCA quickly responded to the community’s needs by shifting our services. Over the past year, we shifted our focus to providing these essential services:
Opened our facility to offer Emergency Childcare to students who needed all day care and support with remote learning and now we are providing free Summer Camp to SFUSD students
Offered a variety of virtual learning opportunities including a free virtual holiday camp and live interactive workshops that are also available on YouTube
Expanded our food distribution program by serving 260 families per week and we are now delivering groceries and hot meals to 60 home bound seniors per week
Provided virtual group exercise classes, many of which are accessible to the community for free
