About the Job

Under the supervision of the Tennis Coordinator, and the Director of Healthy Living, the Tennis instructor is responsible for providing instruction and motivation toward a healthy lifestyle in either one-on-one, semi-private, or group settings. The Tennis Instructor meets each members’ level of fitness, and develops an effective and safe tennis program according to the members’ goals and level of experience. Delivers a high level of customer service and ensures a positive experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 21 years of age 
  • High school diploma or equivalent (related experience) 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Tennis instructor for youths and adults 
  • Current YMCA-approved CPR and First Aid certification* 
  • *Within 30 days of hire or at first available training. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual skills in Cantonese, Mandarin, and/or Spanish 
  • USPTA or USPTR Instructor Certification
