About the Job
The Workforce Development Transitional Coach (TC-WFD) will work under the supervision and direction of the Workforce Development Program (WDP) Director as part of an inter-agency team to coordinate with local Community-Based Organizations and schools to provide life skills workshops. The TC-WFD will provide case management services to Transitional Age Youth (TAY) and TAY-to-adults, including advocacy, referrals to appropriate resources and therapeutic support. The TC-WFD will develop success plans, case management plans, and transition plans including intake needs and risk assessment, service plan, ongoing progress notes, and retention plan. All paperwork with be completed and submitted in a timely fashion.
This position is scheduled to work 15 hours per week, with the opportunity to combine this position with other positions to become full time.
Minimum Qualifications
- 21+ years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Able to work Weekends and evenings during program times
- Must have strong facilitation and classroom management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to operate various data tracking systems including CMS, Salesforce, Workforce Central, and EMS.
- Knowledge of youth development practices and conflict mediation
- Familiarity working with schools and/or community-based agencies
- Proven ability to work with people from a variety of different ethnic, socio-economic, educational, religious, sexual and generational backgrounds.
- Must be highly motivated to provide quality After School opportunities to youth
- At least 2 years’ experience working with high school students or transitional age youth preferably in workforce development
- YMCA approved CPR and 1st Aid certification - can complete upon hiring
- Complete required trainings for role within 60 days Youth Development Modules, Listen First, FCDI – Career Development Facilitator
- YGSF Mandatory Compliance Trainings before first shift in role (no more than 14 days after hire)
Preferred Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience in a related field
- Aquatics experience preferred
- Bi-lingual (Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese and English)
- Lifeguard Certification, Lifeguard Instructor Certification, CPR/First Aid/Emergency Oxygen certification, CPR/First Aid/Emergency Oxygen Instructor Certification
