FAST: Protecting Against Financial Abuse

In Marin County alone, financial abuse cases make up 32% of all referrals to Adult Protective Services. Nationwide it’s estimated that only 1 in 10 cases are reported.

Join us for a presentation with Marin County’s Financial Abuse Specialist Team (FAST) on how to protect yourself or other older adults against common financial scams.

The mission of FAST is two-fold: they work with Adult Protective Services/the District Attorney’s office/Police and Sheriff’s investigators and Legal Aid on cases that involve financial abuse. FAST members also go out into the community to educate seniors and others on how to protect themselves from financial abuse: identifying scams, avoiding pitfalls, and identifying potential red flags.

Date: Friday, January 17th • 1:00pm-2:30pm
