What to Expect

Indoor Strength & Cardio

  • Indoor Cardio and Strength Equipment usage is reservation-free (walk-up only), and must occur during scheduled operating hours. 
  • We request that you limit your time to 30 minutes on cardio equipment and 30 minutes on strength equipment to allow access all members seeking to use it.
  • The pool is closed due to County mandate.
  • Group Exercise classes are held indoors and outdoors, and advanced reservations are recommended.
  • Straps, yoga mats and other porous equipment is not available.
  • Maximum capacity for indoor wellness is 49 members (37 indoor cardio, 12 indoor strength training), and is subject to room capacity.
  • No reservations are required for indoor cardio and strength equipment.
  • You are permitted to use more than 1 piece of cardio or strength equipment during your visit.  All equipment must be cleaned before and after use.
  • Showers are not available. 
  • Adults 18+ years old only during our morning weekday operating hours. Individuals 13+ only after 3pm on Weekdays and all day on Weekends.
  • Please maintain a minimum of 6 ft of physical distance from people exercising at all times.

Outdoor Group Exercise

  • As of Thurs., Oct. 1, most of Peninsula's Group Exercise classes have moved indoors.
  • Adults 18+ only in the mornings, and Youth 10+ with guardian after 3pm weekdays and Saturdays, following the Youth Wellness Facility Guidelines.
  • Available to active YMCA of San Francisco members only.
  • Registration is required for all classes.
  • Please limit your reservations to one activity per day to ensure equitable access for all members.

Youth Guidelines

Y-Kids/Child Watch is currently unavailable at our fitness facilities. This webpage will reflect when Y-Kids/Child Watch becomes available. 

Youth ages 3 and up must wear a face covering.

YOUTH AGES 0-12  

  • Are not permitted in YMCA facilities unless registered for a specific Youth Program.

YOUTH AGES 13-15 

Note: Youth aged 13 and older may have a Teen membership on their own, requiring a parent/guardian signature upon activation. Parent/guardians do not need to be at the facility at the same time as Teen members.

  • May use indoor cardio and strength equipment only after 3pm on Weekdays and all day on Weekends.
  • May attend all Group Exercise Classes, unless otherwise specified on the Class Description, only after 3pm on Weekdays and all day on Weekends.

YOUTH AGES 16-17 

  • May use indoor cardio and strength equipment only after 3pm on Weekdays and all day on Weekends.
  • May attend all Group Exercise Classes, unless otherwise specified on the Class Description, only after 3pm on Weekdays and all day on Weekends
