About the Job
Under the supervision of the Center for Academic Re-entry and Empowerment Director, the Student Advocate will work as part of an interagency team to provide counseling, case management and outreach services to youth who are involved in services provided by the CARE Center Program
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age
- BA/BS in Social Work, psychology/education or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience working in a school and/or non-profit agency setting
- Experience in truancy intervention, coordinating resources and school services and facilitating group process
- Excellent organizational, relationship building, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work with diverse district/school staff, parents, and community members Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Good computer skills and proficiency in MS Office 365
- Fingerprint and TB test clearance
- Current YMCA approved CPR and First Aid certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish
- Knowledge of community agencies
