Position Summary 

Under the direction of the Teens Program Director, the Youth & Teen Center Coordinator is responsible for developing and facilitating academic support, social-emotional learning opportunities, and activities that encourage exploration of personal skills, interests, and career paths. The coordinator should be skilled in working in dynamic, high-engagement environments and be able to create welcoming and inclusive spaces for all participants and staff. This role will collaborate with the Teens Program Leaders and Teens Interns to strengthen the program’s connection with students, families, community partners, the Mission YMCA, and members of the Mission/Excelsior community

Work Environment & Physical Demands 

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, including community centers and schools, with varying noise levels. The role requires regular movement—standing, walking, bending, reaching—and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Must be able to respond to safety situations and engage with youth and families. Some desk work, computer use, and local travel between sites are required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. All employees must complete required background clearances prior to employment.
