Summer Camp Programs

Great Summers Start at the Y

PLEASE NOTE – NO CAMPS WILL BE HELD AT THE EMBARCADERO YMCA SITE. YOU MUST MEET PROGRAM CRITERIA TO ENROLL AT TREASURE ISLAND COMMUNITY YMCA, SEE BELOW FOR REQUIREMENTS.

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION

No camps will be held at the Embarcadero YMCA site. Specific grant funding allows us to offer free programming to families who meet the following eligibility criteria for Summer Camp at Treasure Island. To register, families must meet at least one of these requirements.

– Be a resident of Below Market Rate Housing on Treasure Island or an employee of Treasure Island

– Be a Hope SF Resident

– Reside in public housing or housing developments

– Live in a single-room occupancy (SRO) unit

– Have children or youth in the foster care system

– Be a family experiencing unstable housing

This program is designed to support families within these categories.

The YMCA of Greater San Francisco is committed to providing quality youth programming and exceptional summer camp experiences to our Bay Area families. At Y day camp, kids can develop skills, self-confidence, new friendships and a sense of belonging – all while having tons of fun.

Trained Youth Development Staff

Our youth development leaders are trained in CPR and First Aid.

Health & Safety

The Y abides by all public health guidelines set by the city, county, and state.

Free Extended Care

We offer morning and afternoon extended care at no extra cost.

Multiple Camp Options Available

We offer multiple weeks of summer camp to keep your child engaged throughout the summer.

GENERAL CAMP INFORMATION

Program Information

Campers are organized into small age-appropriate groups. Each camp session is led by well-trained youth development staff. Our daily activities are developed with your camper’s age and skills in mind, tailored to keep your camper engaged and having fun.

This summer, your camper can expect their week to be full of excursions, arts and crafts, camp songs, building friendships, and so much more!

Hours

Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Grades

Kindergarten through 5th – Based on grades completed for the 2025-2026 school year.

AGE GROUP: Discoverers

Summer Camps for GRADES ENTERING TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN TO 2nd

Our littlest Discoverers are ready to dive into a summer full of imagination, fun, and exploration! Each week, they’ll embark on playful adventures to Bay Area playgrounds, parks, and exciting destinations designed just for their curious spirits.

This summer we will continue to provide weekly swim lessons to our little Discoverers. Swim lessons will add splashes of confidence as they develop water skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

When not out and about, our Discoverers will enjoy arts and crafts, outdoor games, and hands-on STEAM activities that bring joy to every moment.

We can’t wait to make memories with our youngest campers, and give them the Best Summer Ever!

Summer Camps for GRADES ENTERING 3rd TO 5th

Get ready to explore like never before! Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade Explorers will take on the Bay Area’s most exciting adventures. From arcades and museums to amusement parks and outdoor destinations.

This summer we will also continue to provide our Explorers with swim lessons. With weekly swim lessons, our Explorers will get to refine their skills and grow their confidence in the water!

When not exploring new horizons, our Explorers will engage in dynamic outdoor activities, unleash their creativity with arts and crafts, and tackle STEAM challenges that test their problem-solving skills.

It’s going to be an incredible summer of discovery and growth!

Most camp programs will have at least one off-site field trip per week. Please consult with the branch staff to confirm schedules in the late Spring.

Summer Camp FAQs

We will notify families by email if a space becomes available. You will have 48 hours to accept or decline the waitlisted spot. If we do not hear back from you, we will move on to the next child on the list. For confidentiality reasons and standard operating procedures, we do not reveal where a child’s spot is on the waitlist.

YMCA leaders are encouraging, patient, and can help facilitate successful camp experiences for children with mild to moderate disabilities. For specific questions regarding your child, please contact the branch-specific site contact.

  • All deposits are non-refundable
  • Cancellations that come in 10 business days or more before the program begins or earlier are subject to a refund of payment but do not include the deposit.
  • Cancellation requests made 9 days or less than the program start date will have no refund.

You can expect to hear from your camp team roughly a week before the camp week begins, which will include details like a packing list, meals, snack policies, etc.
