What to Expect

Indoor Wellness (Reopens Monday, April 5)

  • Indoor Cardio and Strength Equipment usage is reservation-free (walk-up only), and must occur during scheduled operating hours. 
  • We request that you limit your time to 30 minutes on cardio equipment and 30 minutes on strength equipment to allow access all members seeking to use it.
  • You are permitted to use more than 1 piece of cardio or strength equipment during your visit.  All equipment must be cleaned before and after use.
  • Group Exercise classes are held indoors, and advanced reservations are recommended.
  • Straps, yoga mats and other porous equipment is not available.
  • Maximum capacity for indoor wellness is 25%, and is subject to room capacity.
  • No reservations are required for indoor cardio and strength equipment.
  • No towels are available. You are encouraged to bring your own.
  • Locker rooms and showers are available
  • Please maintain a minimum of 6 ft of physical distance from people exercising at all times.

Lap Swimming and Pool Activities (Reopens the week of April 19) 

  • The pool is will reopen the week of April 19th for lap swimming only and requires reservations. Days and times are still to be determined.
  • Maximum capacity for pools is based on the number of lanes.
  • Lap Lane availability and usage will be determined by pool set-up.
  • After your 50 minute reservation ends, you will have 10 minutes to change and exit the building.
  • Youth 6-17 years old who are participating in lap swim must lap swim and pass swim test (see youth guidelines below).
  • Face mask/covering required in the facility and on deck until entering the pool.
  • All swimmers must rinse off before entering the pool. This will be enforced by staff.
  • You are permitted to use your lap lane in the pool only during your reserved time.
  • Pool equipment such as pull-buoys, kickboards, etc. will not be provided. You are encouraged to bring your own.
  • No towels will be available. You are encouraged to bring your own.
  • Depending on the branch, you may be asked to follow a distinct flow of traffic. You may also be asked to enter/exit at different points.
  • Please enter, exit, and rest at the designated point of your lane.
  • Please maintain 6 ft of physical distancing at all times.

 

The safety and wellbeing of our members and staff are at the forefront of our planning. We have new protocols in place that you should know about before arriving for your visit to this branch.

Health & Safety

Please read the following safety protocols and the behaviors/actions we expect of members visiting the branch.

 

Member/Staff Protocols

All members/visitors/staff must enter front doors, take temperature at touch-free kiosk, answer health safety screening questions and sanitize hands before entering the facility

All members/visitors/staff must always wear a CDC approved facial covering (INCLUDING while actively exercising)

All members/visitors/staff must maintain a minimum of 6 ft social distancing

All members/visitors/staff must follow directional signage for one-way traffic flow throughout the facility

All members/visitors/staff must adhere to all safety rules and protocols

 

Facility Safety Enhancements

Please bring your own yoga/stretch mats as our mats, yoga supplies, foam rollers, TRX bands, etc. will not be available to avoid spread of COVID

Towels will not be provided to avoid spread of COVID

Windows will remain open so dress appropriately to match your personal comfort

Basketball, Volleyball have been suspended to meet public health guidelines

The hot tub, Saunas and Steam Rooms will remain closed until Safety Guidelines allow their use

Member lounge, tea bar, and computer lab will remain closed until Safety Guidelines allow their use

Plastic chains/stanchions to direct one-way traffic flow and/or restrict/limit usage

Touch-free thermometer kiosk & hand sanitizing station at facility entrance. Anyone entering the building must read “normal” temperature and use sanitizer

Plexiglass barriers at membership desk

Placed “do not use” signage and locked every other locker to maintain 6 ft distancing

Disabled use of showers and sinks in locker rooms to maintain social distancing

Installed 6 ft social distancing markers on floors throughout the facility

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) stations have been set up throughout the facility in every program area for easy access

Members must wipe all equipment before and after each use i.e. anything that you touch

Disabled fans throughout the building to reduce any airborne contaminant spread

Moved high impact aerobics classes to the basketball gymnasium; established 12 sq ft workout spaces for each member in the class

Spread cardio equipment throughout the facility and into the 3rd Floor Group Exercise Studio to ensure 12 sq ft personal exercise zones

Disabled every other treadmill and piece of cardio equipment to maintain 12 ft distancing

Spaced all free weight equipment to achieve 6 ft social distancing

Spaced stretching zone at 6 ft distancing 

Converted the basketball gym into a cardio exercise space to allow for safe social distancing

Water fountain use limited to filling of water bottles

 

Cleaning Protocols

Enhanced cleaning protocols with approved disinfectant

Mandatory janitorial and program staff training – proper disinfecting procedures

Disposable disinfectant gym wipes provided for members to clean equipment before/after use

Fitness staff will disinfect equipment continually throughout the day

Daily disinfectant fogging of equipment / high-touch areas and unhindered fresh air circulation

Weekly disinfectant fogging of the entire facility

Cleaning checklists installed and monitored daily

Youth Wellness Guidelines

Y-Kids/Child Watch is currently unavailable. This webpage will reflect when Y-Kids/Child Watch becomes available. 

Youth must wear a face covering.

We ask that parent/guardians and their youth read and follow the guidelines below:

YOUTH AGES 0-9  

  • Are not permitted in YMCA facilities unless registered for a specific supervised Youth Program.

YOUTH AGES 10-12 

  • Must use the same area of the facility as their parent/guardian, and 
    • May use the only the following fitness equipment, and only when accompanied by their parent/guardian: 
    • Cardio: Stationary Bicycle, Treadmill, Handcrank 
    • Strength: Cable Machines, Leg Press, Seated Row 
    • Free Weights: Only when supervised by a YMCA Personal Trainer 
    • May attend Group Exercise Classes that do not require equipment, and only when accompanied by their parent/guardian*
    • Must reserve their own space in a Group Exercise Class at the same time as their parent/guardian*  

YOUTH AGES 13-15 

Note: Youth aged 13 and older may have a Teen membership on their own, requiring a parent/guardian signature upon activation. Parent/guardians do not need to be in the facility at the same time as Teen members.

  • May use  the following fitness equipment: 
    • Cardio: Bike, Treadmill, Hand Crank, AMT, Elliptical, Rowing Machine 
    • Strength: Cable Machine, All strength machines 
    • Free weights: With a personal trainer or after a specific free-weight orientation 
    • May attend all Group Exercise Classes, unless otherwise specified on the Class Description
    • Must reserve their space in their Group Exercise class

YOUTH AGES 16-17 

  • May use all fitness equipment 
  • May attend all Group Exercise Classes, unless otherwise specified on the Class Description 
  • Must reserve their own space in a Group Exercise Class
