After School Program
Our YMCA Before- and After-School programs foster each child’s cognitive, social-emotional and physical development through opportunities and experiences which focus on achievement, relationships and belonging.
Amazing Learning Experiences
Since 2003, the Y has partnered with SFUSD to offer diverse and engaging after-school programming at Marina Middle School.
Marina Middle School students come from all over the city, and many of them would otherwise go home to an empty house after school. Enter the Y.
The Marina Beacon Center, run by the Presidio Community YMCA, strengthens the connections between school, students, and families and closes the gap between school services and community needs. The Marina Beacon Center relies on strategic partnerships to provide a wider range of support for students and families. Current partners include BellXcel and YMakers
With more than 150 participants, our program offers youth an engaging combination of homework support and academic assistance, physical recreation, and special-interest skill-building clubs, all with the goal of nurturing the development of our participants. We have created our own dedicated spaces where Marina Middle School students can thrive.
Program Information
Our after-school program is only available to students actively enrolled at Marina Middle School. For information regarding Financial Assistance, please see below. Families who do qualify for Free/Reduced Meals can apply for our grant-funded option. Please email us at [email protected] for more information. Our after-school program runs daily, except for school holidays and breaks. Program hours are aligned to provide a smooth transition from the school day to after school.

Program Dates
School year: 08/19/2024 through 06/04/2025.
After School Care Days
Monday through Friday, 5 days a week. Hours are from end of school day until 6:40 pm.
