Fundraising Event
Now in its 48th year, the Chinatown YMCA CCHP Lunar New Year Run gives participants a rare opportunity to run through San Francisco Chinatown’s historic (and slightly hilly) streets. For those who prefer to participate virtually, the event offers a global option throughout March. 2026 is the Year of the Horse, known for charisma, ambition, and social nature—the perfect symbol for an adventurous and energetic run.
Proceeds from this event support youth and teen programs, social services for low-income families, and financial assistance to make Chinatown YMCA programs accessible to all.
All registered runners will receive a t-shirt with registration.

Performance tech shirts will be made available through purchase of Premium Packages.
Don’t miss out on your chance to earn an EXCLUSIVE Chinatown YMCA 48th Annual CCHP Lunar New Year Run Year of the Horse Completion MEDAL! You must complete the race to receive a medal.

As a sponsor of the 48th Annual CCHP Lunar New Year Run, you have a special opportunity to engage your employees and connect with thousands of participants, while demonstrating your commitment to community impact and the importance of health and wellness. Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting youth and teen programs, providing social services for low-income families, and ensuring access to programs through financial assistance.
Each year, more than 200 dedicated volunteers help ensure our run through San Francisco’s historic Chinatown is safe, well-organized, and enjoyable for all participants. Volunteers play an essential role in every aspect of the event—from monitoring key intersections to encouraging runners as they climb Pine Street.
For 47 years, this community tradition has thrived thanks to the commitment of volunteers like you. Your efforts extend far beyond race day: proceeds from the run directly support the Chinatown YMCA’s youth and teen programs, as well as essential social services for low-income families. By volunteering, you contribute to a stronger, healthier, and more equitable community.
All volunteers will receive a limited-edition Year of the Horse t-shirt. To guarantee your preferred size, please register by January 9, 2026.
