Position Summary
The OMI Director provides strategic oversight and leadership for a portfolio of family support programs serving the OMI neighborhood. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs that respond to the needs of the community and align with the organization’s mission.
The Director leads a multidisciplinary team, manages program budgets, and oversees contracts and funding compliance. This position serves as a key liaison between the organization and various stakeholders, including community-based organizations, schools, city agencies, and residents. The Director also facilitates multi-stakeholder collaborations to coordinate services, align resources, and strengthen partnerships.
This position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and stakeholder relationships. The OMI Director is instrumental in driving performance outcomes, aligning resources, and promoting a culture of equity, accountability, and community engagement.
Job Responsibilities
- Program Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and manage a portfolio of family support programs serving diverse populations across the OMI neighborhood.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs, ensuring alignment with community needs and organizational goals.
- Establish and manage timelines, deliverables, and performance metrics for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Partnerships & Community Engagement
- Serve as a primary liaison with community-based organizations, school partners, city agencies, residents, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate multi-stakeholder meetings and partnerships to align resources and coordinate services.
- Team Leadership & Culture
- Supervise a multidisciplinary team, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and equity within the team and among partners.
- Financial Management & Compliance
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring responsible allocation of resources.
- Oversee contracts and funding agreements, ensuring compliance with city and state requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, community-based services, or nonprofit leadership.
- experience managing public grants, including budgeting, compliance, and reporting.
- Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-sector collaborations and partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in public administration, Social Work, Education, or related field preferred.
- Deep understanding of San Francisco’s social service landscape and the unique needs of the OMI community preferred.
- Bilingual (e.g., Spanish, Cantonese) a plus.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The work is primarily performed in a professional office setting, with regular travel to program sites and community meetings throughout the OMI neighborhood. The role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, use a computer and phone, and occasionally lift materials up to 25 pounds. Some evening and weekend hours may be required to attend events or meet with community partners. The position involves frequent interaction with diverse populations and stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The OMI Director position offers a Salary range of $75,000 – $85,000 per year. Based on experience, qualifications, and alignment with salary benchmarks for similar roles. Compensation is in accordance with grant funding approval and program budget requirements.
