The YMCA helps our community meet its greatest challenges.
Reaching across cultural and economic boundaries since 1853, the YMCA of San Francisco has been open to all with programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body.
Today, our community faces challenges such as decreasing school readiness; increasing childhood obesity and related chronic diseases; the continued negative affects of the economy; and, fewer gathering places for families.
The YMCA is responding with:
- more early childhood education programs for our youngest kids;
- affordable, supervised programs for older kids when school is out;
- proven mental health and other programs for health-seeking youth and adults of all income levels;
- and more places in our communities where everyone feels welcome.
You can help those who seek but cannot afford the cost to participate by making a donation to the YMCA of San Francisco or one of its 14 branches. Together we can work to get our kids ready for success in school, reduce health risk behaviors in all ages, and continue to provide community-based facilities and programs for every age, every income and every background.
The Y meets the needs of youth, families, adults and seniors who are looking for healthy programs in a fun, safe and values-based environment. The YMCA depends on charitable contributions to achieve its unique and remarkable impact. Please join us and donate today. Your gift is fully deductible as allowed by law. The YMCA is a nonprofit public benefit corporation tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. Tax identification number: 94-0997140
