What if my camper lost of forgot an item at camp?
A lost and found area will be available at each camp. Please label your camper’s clothing and check the lost and found for any missing items. All items in lost and found will be donated to charity at the end of the summer.
What is Extended Camp?
To accommodate your needs, parents my drop off campers as early as 7:30am. Extended care is available to all families at no additional cost. Campers will be safe and engaged in multiple structured activities such as arts & crafts, mind teasers, relationship building, reading, sports, and more!
Where is drop off & pick up?
June 10 - July 19
Weeks 1-6 Commodore Sloat Elementary 50 Darien Way, San Francisco
Parking is available for drop off and pick up along the street side of Commodore Sloat. Please do not park across the street at the church.
July 22-August 16
Weeks 7-10 San Francisco State University 1600 Holloway Avenue, San Francisco

What if I am late to pick up my child?
Any time you are going to be late, it is important for you to call the Extended Care Unit Director to inform staff. We are more than willing to do all that is necessary to assist you in an emergency situation. The call allows us to reassure your child that you are on the way. A $15 late fee will be charged for any of the first 15 minutes after the end of camp. For example, camp pick-up ends at 6:00pm, and a child is picked up at 6:10pm. There would be a $15 charge. An additional $1 per minute fee will be charged after the first 15 minutes.
Can I pick my child up early?
We ask for parents to pick up their camper(s) at 4:00pm, when campers are scheduled to come back from field trips.
If you need to make early pickup arrangements, please contact the Camp Unit Director as early as possible to get more information regarding what field trip your camper is going to for a specific day. We cannot guarantee placement in another unit or promise to be back by a certain time.
What can I expect at sign in & out?
If it's your first time at camp, please arrive early with a valid photo ID for Staff to take your photo. You will need to know your assigned PIN to sign in and out your camper. Staff and tablets will be available at the front desk entrance to help walk through and answer any questions.
What is Alaris?
Alaris is an electronic system for signing your camper(s) in and out through the use of a tablet.
When will I receive my PIN number?
Your PIN number will be emailed out from Alaris. New participants each week of camp will receive an email overnight before camp starts.
Your assigned PIN number can also be provided by an available staff member to at the Camp check in/out table. Please bring a valid photo ID.
Why did I not receive a email with a PIN number?
Alaris will only email a PIN number to the Primary Parent and authorized guardians on the drop off/pick up list. Please have an up to date email address on file through your membership portal here. This PIN may not be shared with anyone and will allow you access to sign your camper in and out

How can I add an authorized guardian(s) to my drop off/pick up list?
Available Staff Members at the camp check-in/out table can add authorized guardians to the drop off/pick up list at least 24 hours in advance. Parents will need to know the authorized guardians information: First, Last Name, Date of Birth and Email Address.
An email will be sent overnight to the added authorized guardian with their PIN number.
How can I remove authorized guardian(s) for drop off/pick up?
Please contact an available Staff Member to provide the name and information of the authorized guardian you want to remove.
How can I make last minute day of camp pick up changes to my authorized pick up list?
Please contact your camps Unit Director for last minute pick up changes.
What activities will happen at camp?
Activities for each camp may vary depending on grade level and camp type. Please refer to the weekly Welcome Letter for specific activities.

Why am I not receiving emails regarding camp?
The Stonestown Family YMCA emails Welcome Letter, Camp Newsletter, and important camp information to email addresses associated with your membership. Please have an up to date email address on file here.

When will I receive my Welcome Letter?
Welcome Letters will be emailed out Thursday to the camps starting the following week.
If my child is on the waitlist, how and when will I be notified?
Parents are notified by email when a spot becomes available and are given a deadline to accept or decline. If we do not hear from you, we will move on to the next camper on the waitlist.
This is the best way to keep track of belongings. Never send your child to camp with more than what will fit in his/her backpack.
Please send a labeled, healthy, BAG LUNCH (not a lunch box) and a drink (preferably water) every day. Lunch boxes tend to be lost, broken, and can be difficult to carry all day. Refrigeration and microwaves are not provided; please do not send perishable items (milk, mayonnaise, etc) or items that require heating. The camp staff will provide an afternoon snack.
Please refrain from packing soda in your student’s lunch; we are encouraging a SODA FREE summer. Our staff is NOT responsible for participants' money, toys, or other personal items.
Your camper should wear regular play clothes. Please be sure he/she is wearing close-toed shoes, no sandals. Be advised that your camper may get wet and dirty at program. Please mark all of your camper’s belongings with his/her name.
Your camper will spend a lot of time outdoors. Please apply sun block before you send your camper to camp. In addition, be sure to send the appropriate sun protection to camp. (If your camper is fair-skinned, please send an extra T-shirt and a hat).
Please note any special medication needs on your camper’s information form and notify the Unit Director. Medication must be in the possession of the Unit Director, with complete written instructions on how to administer (depending upon age of your camper). Medication will be returned at the end of camp and can be picked up from an Extended Care Staff.
Do Not Bring
Money, drugs, paraphernalia, alcohol, valuable toys, playing cards, weapons, vehicles, personal sports equipment, electronic devices, animals, or anything deemed inappropriate by staff. Campers will not need money; as there will no opportunity for purchasing.
How are campers transported for field trips?
YMCA buses and vans are operated by trained, licensed drivers. Vehicles are inspected regularly and are certified by First Student School Services/ CHP.
What time do camps depart for field trips?
Camps going on field trips will leave as early as 9:30am and return no later than 4:00pm (unless given prior notice or other circumstances). Field trips that extend beyond these hours will be announced in the weekly calendar and on the Parent’s Board at the program site.
Why does my camper need to take swim tests before traveling to camp?
To ensure your child’s safety, while in the water or on all field trips, we invite your camper to our pool facility to be swim tested prior to our Aquaventurer Travel camp weeks. If you are unable to attend one of the days listed, your child will be placed in a PFD (Personal Floatation device) for their continued safety at the water park facilities.
