Mock Trial Program

 

Program Overview 

Teens are assigned to a trial role and just like real life the teams prepare their cases separately, working on attorney presentations, examinations, and witness preparation for their respective clients. 

  • 9th - 12th Grades
  • 6 Week Program 
  • Coaching from local volunteer Attorneys
  • Education in Courtroom Basics 
  • Public Speaking & Critical Thinking skills 
  • Oral Argument Formation

Nancy Hernandez

Nancy started her career with the YMCA of San Francisco back in 2011 and her experience includes overseeing elementary and middle school after school programs, teen leadership and civic engagement, workforce development, and alternative education programs. 

 

Precious Ogbonna

Precious Ogbonna is a youth development director at the YMCA of San Francisco and has worked with the Y for the past nine years. She has been helping youth and teens explore the concepts of civic engagement, workforce development, and health equity. Specializing in middle and high school programming, Precious uses that experience to support our young people with their transition into the workforce, understand their civic duties, and transform medical research to be centered around equity.
