Lifeguard Certification Course

This training will give participants the knowledge, skills and resources to become a successful lifeguard. 

This course is designed to provide participants the knowledge and skills necessary to be a lifeguard and professional rescuer. Participants will be certified in American Safety and Health Institute’s (ASHI) courses: CPR Pro (BLS) for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid for the Community, and Emergency Oxygen Administration.

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive certification from the YMCA in Lifeguarding, a nationally recognized certification to guard the lives of swimmers in a variety of aquatic environments. Additionally, the opportunity in a career at the Y!

Course Dates

DATES: 1 week course - July 30-August 
TIME: 9am-5:30pm
PLACE: Marin YMCA •  Conference Room & Pool
FEE: $100 per participant

Course Requirements

Participants must pass a preliminary swimming skills test, and be age 16 or above to attend the course.

There are approximately 8.5 hours of online pre-course trainings to be completed before the first day of the course.

Complete attendance to every single day of training is required.
