Overview
The Bayview YMCA coordinates services at the Hunters View housing development including: service connection, case management, skill-building workshops, referral services, targeted outreach and community events. Our service connection model begins with evidence-based assessment tools to determine need, goals, aptitudes and to identify barriers to self-sufficiency so our staff can develop Individual Service Plans (ISPs) with clients. Our client-driven approach recognizes individual strengths and builds on those to help clients develop motivational strategies. Our housing stabilization work includes barrier removal (ex, utilities and rent assistance.)
We offer residents a range of workshops, classes and training opportunities including: financial literacy, tenants rights, parenting and stress management. We offer workplace skills trainings and psychoeducational classes (with a focus on life skills and family strengthening.)
We know community building is essential to providing a safe, welcoming environment to residents. We host events and cultural celebrations that promote community cohesion and celebrate the neighborhood.
