Gina practiced Internal Medicine at the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco (KPSF) medical center for more than 34 years. Her career was dedicated to providing integrated, coordinated care, and creating programs to address the needs of diverse populations. Some programs include creating the first Spanish bilingual clinic in KP, co-directing a summer program for under-represented medical students, and co-creating the KPSF Equity Task Force, a leadership level team whose mission is to assess all operations through a lens of Equity.

Gina co-lead the Community Benefit Advisory Board at KPSF, providing grants to support local non-profit organizations. She believes in the KP mission “to provide high-quality, affordable health care services and to improve the health of our members and the communities we serve”. Gina joined the YMCA AO Board because of the parallel missions of the two organizations.

Gina is adapting to retirement by proclaiming that “Every day is a Saturday”, She is enjoying more exercise and staring at the clouds. She appreciates the freedom to travel and spending time with her family and friends. She looks forward to helping her husband, Derrick, market his memoir; her son, Jamil, with his Raised Roots farming business, and seeing her daughter Maya in LA. Her extended family has claimed her as their “Family Concierge” physician!
