About the Job
Under the supervision of the Aquatics leaders for the branch, the Swim Coach is responsible for producing high-quality training and implementing a swim program for the swimmers in our community. The Swim Coach will also be involved in all aspects of team development.
Salary Range: $25.00 to $31.00 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday from 4pm - 7pm
- Certified in USA Swimming Coach Level 1*
- Complete YMCA and USA swimming team registrations as required yearly.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of technical aspects of swimming, including strokes, diving, turns, etc.
- Ability to teach group and private lessons as needed.
- Ability to effectively supervise and coach swimmers, both on deck and in the water.
- Must possess mature judgment and sound decision-making.
- Ability to maintain positive and effective relationships with staff, participants, and the public.
- Excellent customer service, adaptability, and problem-solving skills to ensure swim team member satisfaction and retention.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Background in competitive swimming, either as a coach or swimmer
- 2-3 years of coaching experience with various ages
- Y-USA or ASCA Certified
- Certified in American Red Cross Lifeguard*
- Certified in YMCA Swim Lessons Instructor**
