About the Job

The YMCA of San Francisco is seeking a Site Coordinator for the LCOS Preschool - 1011 Garfield St, San Francisco, 94132

The YMCA Preschool Site Coordinator works directly with the Child Development Director to administer a safe and nurturing environment that is developmentally appropriate for children ages 2-6 years and works to achieve successful program service delivery to the YMCA Preschool constituency. The Site Coordinator assists the Child Development Director in establishing classroom policies and procedures for children’s development and safety and is responsible for ensuring that the center meets the State of California Community Care Licensing requirements. This position will act as the Department Head in the absence of the Child Development Director and will work closely with parents and staff to identify and develop programs and activities in accordance with the YMCA of San Francisco Child Care Programming goals and objectives. The Site Coordinator will delegate appropriate responsibilities as needed for successful day to day, and step directly into classroom duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Age: At least 21 years old
  • Education: BA Degree in ECE or related field, minimum 12 ECE semester units
  • Availability: Monday-Friday, full-time, 40 hours/week
  • Related Experience:
    • 2 years of in a supervisory role
    • Extensive experience working with toddlers and preschool aged children
  • Language Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written skills in English required Spanish, Tagalog, or Chinese language skills preferred
  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • Site Supervisor Permit from California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
    • CPR and First Aid (can certify upon hire)
  • Must pass criminal background check and fingerprinting with Community Care Licensing
  • Submit proof of immunizations, health screening, TB test clearance
  • Proof of COVID Vaccination is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCTC Program Director permit qualified
  • Experience working for the YMCA or in YMCA Preschools
  • Knowledge of NAEYC, PITC, Anti-Bias Curriculum, Emergent Curriculum and Reggio Emilia
