About the Job
Under the direction of the Program Director/Senior Director of Community Programs, the Bessie Carmichael Site Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of the Bessie Carmichael Beacon programs including extended day, summer, and linked day. Site Coordinator must maintain all relevant reporting to all relevant funders including ExCEL (After School Education and Safety Program (ASES)), and the Department of Children, Youth, & their Families (DCYF). The programs include three primary components: Academics, Enrichment & Recreation. The After School Enrichments will operate with these components 5 days per week. The goals are to improve literacy skill levels and academic performance, and to strengthen social skills in youth. As a member of the leadership team, the Bessie Carmichael Site Coordinator will also engage actively in our Annual Giving Campaign, assist with Healthy Kids Day, and other branch related events. The Bessie Carmichael Site Coordinator will represent the Embarcadero YMCA in the SoMA community, acting as liaison to several entities, both public and private to support the overall mission of the Embarcadero Y at Bessie Carmichael.
- Minimum 21 years old
- 2 years college/Associates Degree
- Bachelor’s Degree with teaching credential or passing score on NCLB exam preferred.
- Must be available Monday - Friday with some weekends
- Experience working with Elementary or Middle School students
- Experience with staff and budget management preferred.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese preferred
- Current CPR and 1st Aid Certification, Child Abuse Prevention training ,TB Test clearance,
