About the Job
YMCA of San Francisco interviews and hires aquatic staff year-round. Lifeguards at the Y are responsible for the maintenance of a safe aquatic environment and first response in an aquatic emergency. An ideal candidate demonstrates the Y’s core values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility in all dealings with members, guests, volunteers and fellow staff.
- Minimum 16 years of age.
- Current YMCA approved CPR/First Aid certification.*
- Lifeguard certification*.
- Ability to maintain certification level of physical and mental readiness.
*Non-YMCA Lifeguard certification must be crossed over to YMCA Lifeguard within 90 days of employment, or at first available training. We will provide training for certification!
