About the Job
POSITION SUMMARY
This position reports to the District Facilities Director and is an essential maintenance staff member of the association shared resource facilities department. It is the goal of the YMCA to have clean inviting buildings & fitness equipment in excellent operational condition and have repairs made in a 24-hour period.
This position works out of the Peninsula branch.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years old
- 2 + years’ experience in building & grounds maintenance of infrastructure & facilities equipment
- Experience with fitness equipment maintenance and repairs
- Previous supervisory experience
- Experience managing contractors, and vendor projects
- Experience reading building plans preferred.
- Working knowledge of life safety/ mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, carpentry & other maintenance-related areas
- Ability to use power and hand tools
- Ability to read building plans
- Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 60 lbs., use ladders and/or scaffolding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with personal computers and Office 365
- Must have access to reliable transportation
- Current Pool Operator certifications or obtain within first 6 months. YMCA will train.
- YMCA approved CPR/First Aid certifications required
- This position requires light or heavy physical activity such as lifting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, climbing ladders or using one person lifts and bending periodically. Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 60 lbs., use ladders and/or scaffolding as well as power and hand tools.
