About the Job

Under the supervision of the Development Executive, the Development Director – Annual Campaign and Events manages the Annual Campaign, all association-wide fundraising events and advises branches in the development strategies as it relates to Annual Campaign as well as events. The Director of Development works with the Development Department and the Board of Director’s Development Committee to implement the Y’s Strategic Plan as it relates to Development Activities.

The Director of Development works closely with branch leadership and the Marketing and Communications Department to determine strategic direction and evaluate progress in the areas of case development, campaign development, philanthropic training, broadening the organization’s donor base and deepening relationships with existing donors.

The Director’s responsibilities include managing all aspects of annual campaign and event fundraising including budgeting, project management, campaign analysis, training, overseeing gift processing, and fund-a-need strategies. The Director will advise and partner with the Development Executive to develop and implement a stewardship and recognition plan to acquire new and cultivate current donors. The position will also be the point of reference and main support to branch personnel for the annual campaign and events. This position ensures excellence, coordination and consistency in the messages the Y delivers to its donors and the public.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master's Degree in nonprofit or business management
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Experience with Planned Giving, Individual Giving, Donor Database Management required
