About the Job

The Stonestown Family YMCA is a leader in Youth Development and we are looking for After School educators to join our team. In our After School Program, we are intentional about fostering achievement, relationships and belonging. We are a community dedicated to creating an environment that helps people feel inspired and allows them to reach their true potential. We want to empower our youth and staff to make a difference in a diverse community. We provide support and growth opportunities in hopes of building a successful team. We are seeking creative talented professional people who are serious about providing meaningful after school opportunities for youth.  We need people who are flexible, who will take the initiative, who are punctual and able to make a commitment to work throughout the entire school year.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass an After School For All-Excel Qualification Exam (No Child Left Behind- NCLB)
  • At Least 2 Years of college (48 units) or AA degree preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree with teaching credential or passing score on NCLB exam preferred
  • Must be available Mondays-Fridays during after school program hours (approx. 1:30p-6:30p)
  • At least 6+ months of experience working with youth
  • Knowledge or expertise in youth development
  • Must be comfortable leading enrichment and physical activities with youth
  • Bi-lingual skills in Cantonese, Mandarin, or Spanish is a plus
  • Must provide school transcripts documenting necessary qualifications
  • Must pass health screening, CCL immunizations
  • Current YMCA approved certifications in First Aid and CPR, fingerprint and TB Test Clearance 
  • Current EMSA Approved First Aid and CPR certification preferred
