About the Job
The YMCA After School Program Teacher’s Aide will assist in the overall function and supervision of the After School Enrichment Program. This position is responsible for helping to maintain a safe, clean after school site; ensuring a high level of program quality and working to establish a positive relationship with all program participants, their families, and school community. The program includes 3 primary components: Academics, Enrichment & Recreation. The ASP will operate with these components 5 days per week. The goals are to improve literacy skill levels and academic performance, and to strengthen social skills in youth. The ASP Teacher’s Aide will provide a positive role model to Youth within the philosophy of YMCA standards and expectations with emphasis on character counts philosophy. This will be done under the direction of the Site Coordinator. Other responsibilities include planning and implementing all daily activities for the participants.
- AA Degree preferred
- Must be 18 years or older
- Experience working with youth preferred
- Must be comfortable leading a classroom and physical activities with youth
- CPR and First Aid *Can complete upon hire
