Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the YEF Program Specialist is responsible for onsite supervision, program implementation, and staff development for the Youth Community Funder team. This role focuses on community outreach to increase program awareness and recruit fiscal sponsors, grantee applicants, and community funder youth staff. The YEF Program Specialist ensures a safe and welcoming environment while maintaining a high level of program quality to expose youth to advocacy, leadership, and decision-making opportunities. Primary responsibilities include creating and facilitating community funder meetings that comply with funder expectations and supporting grant tracking, purchasing, and assisting grantees with completing required documentation.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and organize YEF grantee records and data.
- Advise youth through YEF grant deliberation.
- Support a data-driven and learning culture through annual surveys and feedback sessions to improve program design.
- Plan and facilitate weekly youth workshops and meetings.
- Support grantee purchasing processes.
- Manage weekly social media posts to promote program visibility.
- Develop youth staff and participants through mentoring and training.
- Conduct outreach for program opportunities through tabling, presentations, and individual communications.
- Represent YEF throughout internal and external networks to enhance program partnerships.
- Support grantee fund payments, data entry, and alumni tracking.
- Assist in the planning and facilitation of annual events.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma, proof of high school equivalency test completion, or at least 2 years of continuous work or volunteer experience.
- Experience in youth group facilitation and workshop planning.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college credits.
- Experience as a YEF Community Funder or participation in other youth leadership programs.
- Administrative experience.
- Proficiency with social media platforms.
- Experience working with teen programs.
