Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Family Resource Center (FRC) Director, the Differential Response Liaison (DRL) plays a key role in ensuring that families served by the FRC receive comprehensive, high-quality support. This position focuses on providing seamless case management and connecting families to essential community resources tailored to their needs.
As a DRL, you will be the bridge between families and the services they need to thrive. You will engage directly with families identified as facing challenges such as potential abuse, neglect, or risk of out-of-home placement. By building trust and fostering open communication, you will empower families to access the tools, programs, and resources that can make a meaningful difference in their lives.
To excel in this role, you will bring strong interpersonal skills and a passion for helping others. You will actively collaborate with families, community partners, and service providers to ensure every family receives the support they deserve.

Job Responsibilities
- Conduct intake and screening and provide appropriate information, materials or referrals, opening cases as needed
- Assist with transfer to FRC staff or other CBO program, input client data, attend Red Team meetings, and work in close collaboration with CPS.
- Provide direct services in collaboration with CPS to families identified as Path 2 referrals.
- Work closely with schools, law enforcement, and other community agencies to ensure that clients receive the services they need so they may benefit from family support.
- Work as a team member with other FRC staff to ensure a holistic approach to Family Advocacy.
- Input client data.
- Adheres to all confidentiality procedures.
- Complete all mandatory ADP LMS safety training and Y-USA e-Learning before the first shift in the facility
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Uphold YMCA policies for safety, supervision, mandated reporting and risk management.
- Demonstrate the Character Counts values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility in all dealings with members, guests, volunteers and fellow staff.

- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years old
- AA degree or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience in case management
- Available regular work week and some weekends
- Familiarity and experience with target populations.
- Familiarity and experience working in or with HSA, DCYF, and community-based agencies.
- Familiarity and experience with client interviewing, assessment, and service plan development.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with demonstrated follow through on tasks; multi-project/multi-task orientation.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work with people from a variety of different ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, religious, sexual and generational backgrounds
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to include public speaking
- Proficient with computers and Office 365
- Ability to clearly document outcome and data per program protocols
- Professional demeanor, pleasant personality, and a sense of humor.
- Must have access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent
- Trauma Informed, Conflict Resolution
- Knowledge of the Western Addition community helpful
