Truancy Assessment and Referral Center
On any given day, there are nearly 5,000 habitual and chronically truant students on the streets of San Francisco.
TARC, which stands for Truancy Assessment and Referral Center, is a one-stop location for truant students to be dropped off for re-engagement back in school.
Located at 44 Gough Street, TARC will provide youth and families information and supports needed to get back into school and will be staffed by Urban Services YMCA, San Francisco Unified School District and other community based organizations.
TARC is a collaboration primarily between Urban Services, San Francisco Unified School District, Huckleberry House, Juvenile Probation Department, San Francisco Police Department, and the Department of Children Youth and Their Families.
For more information about this program please contact Urban Services YMCA-Tacing Parker at (415) 561-0631 x114.
