Back Pack Giveaway a Success

We want to thank Advent Software, Stonestown Family YMCA, and the Youth Guidance Center Improvement Committee for helping give away and stuff 500 backpacks with school supplies. Because of this effort we were able to give out backpacks to OMI neighborhood students through the OMI/E Beacon Center and OMI Family Resource Center, in addition to student from Truancy Assessment and Resource Center, Malcolm X Academy, International Studies Academy, Ida B Wells High School, Downtown High School, and Starr King Elementary.

JP Morgan Corporate Challenge

Congrats to Mathew Moreno, Cesnae Crawford, Maya Johansson, Artrecia Thomas, and Liana Orozco-Garcia! These staff started at Piers 30 and 32 and ran 3.5 miles to raise money for YMCA youth programs. The Y was one of the organizations representing the Bay Area with about 6,000 people making this challenge a success. It was a great experience and we had lots of fun.
