AOA Fitness Classes

Ball Conditioning
This class incorporates the use of stability balls to provide you with an extra challenge to your resistance training routine.

Cardio n' Works
One hour of low impact, easy-to-follow aerobics with an emphasis on cardiovascular work, flexibility and strength training.

Bodyworks
A one hour class of strength training and endurance building for seniors. Emphasizes balance and proper form. Floor work, weights and dynabands are included in this class.

Sit & Be Fit
This is a work out that will improve circulation and range of motion, increasing flexibility. Muscle strength will increase, too, since you will perform resistance exercises on and around a chair. Sometimes props, such as light hand weights, exercise tubes and balls will be used.

Stretch & Relaxation
This is a way to increase your range of motion as well as calm your mind and spirit.

Yoga Basics
Yoga basics offers instruction on the core elements of a yoga practice, focusing on breath, relaxation and familiarizing oneself with a variety of fundamental postures. Appropriate for all levels, including those working with injuries and/or other limitations.

Hatha Flow
This is a form of Hatha Yoga which emphasizes flowing movements based on the use of breath. The breath and flow link postures together. It is an appropriate class for students already introduced to yoga.

Iyengar Yoga
These classes entail holding yoga postures in precise alignment. Props are often used to correct body alignment and deepen awareness. Emphasis is placed on core strength, flexibility and balance, as well as breath awareness.

Salsa Aerobics
Salsa Aerobics will teach you the steps and rhythms of popular Latin dances while achieving the benefits of an aerobic workout. This is a fun and stress-free way to add spice to your regular exercise routine. No dancing experience required.

Pilates
Pilates focuses on improving flexibility and strength for the total body without building bulk. It is a series of controlled movements engaging your body, spirit and mind, with balance training and stretching. Regular practice improves strength, flexibility and posture.

Tai Chi
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art that utilizes soft, smooth, circular movements combined with meditation and breathing to develop flexibility and strength, increase circulation and control stress.

Qi Gong
A Far East for of exercise designed to cultivate one's inner power, strength and well being. Exercises are done with accuracy and rhythm while focusing on relaxation.
