AOA Clubs and Activities
Flower Arranging - 1:00pm Tuesday
Members come together to learn new designs in the art of Western Flower Arrangement. Session costs: YMCA Program members pay $15 for 3 months. YMCA Facility members: FREE. Supply and flower costs for all participants: $7 per week; supply costs must be paid one week prior to class.
Knitting Circle - 1:00pm Wednesday
Members gather to knit or crochet together, share patterns and ideas and catch up on each other's lives. Come learn new skills and meet new friends. Beginners welcome! (No Charge)
Beginner Bridge Club - 1:00pm Friday
This beginner bridge club is an on-going learning experience for the new bridge player. Advanced players are welcome to attend. (No Charge)
Bread Donation Program - 10:30pm Thursday
Richmond District YMCA is the recipient of generous donations from various merchants such as Trader Joe's, Noah's Bagels and Safeway. We offer these products members of our community for a small donation. Proceeds benefit the AOA Program. (Charge: $1 per bag)
Sheffield Lecture Series
Selected speakers are chosen throughout the year to present various topics of interest. Bring your own lunch; the lecture is free. Dates, times and topics to be announced.
YMCA Active Adults Advisory Council
Meets on the second Thursday of each month at 12pm. This committee helps the staff know what works and what needs to be added or changed to our programs. AOA members are welcome and encouraged to attend any meeting. However, only elected Council Members can vote on decisions. Our Advisory Council is in the process of adding new Active Older Adults programming to accommodate our members. It is at this time that we plan our activities for the remainder of the year.
