The Impact of Your Gift
Your support brings the outdoors to the children who need it most.
America’s young people are growing increasingly disconnected from nature. They often spend their days in a classroom and their evenings indoors, rather than outside playing, exploring, and learning.
Choose YMCA Point Bonita as your Gateway to Giving, so that No Child is Left Inside.

"Research shows that direct exposure to nature is essential for healthy childhood development – physical, emotional, and spiritual. What’s more, nature is a potent therapy for depression, obesity, and ADD. Environment-based education dramatically improves standardized test scores and grade point averages and develops skills in problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making. Even creativity is stimulated by childhood experiences in nature.”
-Richard Louv, Last Child in the Woods, Saving Our Children From Nature Deficit Disorder (2006)
