Community Convener
This a program of San Francisco’s Department of Children, Youth & Their Families (DCYF) to improve the coordination and efficiency of services and organizations supporting families within individual communities. DCYF has selected the Mission YMCA to work with the Excelsior neighborhood to improve access to our existing community resources. Some of our convener services include a Community Resource Guide (translated into Spanish and Chinese), a Back to School Resource Fair, collaboration on community events, and monthly convener group meetings that are open to the public.
For more information about how to work with your community convener to effect positive community wide change or to attend monthly meetings, please contact Jimmy Ozaeta at 415-452-7578 or jozaeta@ymcasf.org.
Our Goals:
Improve the coordination of services to meet community needs and challenges
Plan and promote community-wide events
Promote resource sharing and referrals among agencies
Enhance communication between CBOs and public agencies
