Since 1953, the Mission YMCA has been building strong kids, strong families and strong communities from our location in the midst of the Mission, Bernal Heights, Glen Park and Excelsior neighborhoods.

Come and visit us any day to experience diversity in action. Spanish, Arabic, and Polish language assistance is available from staff and many of our members speak other languages such as Tagalog, Chinese, and Italian. Enjoy a hot lunch in the Senior Center, enroll your child in one of our child care centers, or volunteer - and help make a difference. QUALITY PROGRAMMING

The Mission YMCA is a family center featuring childcare, team programming, a senior center, and a variety of youth and community programs. Several core operational practices ensure that our programs are both high quality and meet the needs our of members.

Ongoing Staff Development:
Our staff receives ongoing training in safety, program development, supervision, member services, and many other topics.

Professional Program Design:
In addition to having a highly qualified staff here at the Mission YMCA, the YMCA of San Francisco has numerous program specialists on call to help develop innovative and data driven programming.

Extensive Outreach and Collaboration:
The Mission YMCA pursues community wide collaborative partnerships whenever possible. Some of our partners include DCYF, SF Recreation & Parks, and the San Francisco Unified School District .

Member Driven Programming:
All Mission YMCA program solicit member and staff input during program development and delivery. After all, their your programs!

Quick Facts:

The Mission YMCA has the largest service area of any San Francisco YMCA. It encompasses 35% of the city's population and 50% of its children.  85% of the people we serve require financial assistance to participate in our programs and more than 3,000 families (including seniors) utilize our services every year.
