Send a Kid to Camp

The Y provides camp to more than 8,000 kids a year and gives out over $465,000 in scholarship funds to ensure all kids have access to enriching opportunities in the Bay Area.

From academic enrichment to outdoor leadership, Y camps offer kids a safe and exciting place to learn, build friendships, and discover who they are.  Y camp helps kids develop the skills they need to be successful in school and life.  The Kids to Camp Golf Classic has been fundraising to send kids to Y camp since 1988!  It is one of the top charity golf tournaments in the Bay Area drawing prominent sponsors and golfers from Bay Area companies.

About the Tournament

Lake Merced Golf Club is an 18 hole, hidden jewel for golf purists and a wonderful example of what makes the great City of San Francisco so special.  It stretches out to a Par 72 that covers 6,925 yards, featuring six sets of tees for members and guests of all abilities to enjoy. The course was named to the California State Amateur Championship rotation and hosted the 2009 NCAA West Regional Championship, 2012 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, and the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic.

Our Cause

The Y is committed to strengthening the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Proceeds raised at the tournament provide camp scholarships to low-income youth, giving them the opportunity to revel in joys of childhood not only during summer camp, but also during winter and spring camps when schools are not in session. At Y camp, youth experience new challenges, make lifelong friends, and have fun in safe and affirming environments.
